Who we are

Lowca helps you find lowcarb-friendly restaurants and food trucks in Belgium and the Netherlands. This policy covers lowca.be, this website, and the Lowca app on Android and iOS.

What we collect

Email address, if you join the waitlist or create an account.

Location, if you allow it, to show places near you. You can turn location off in device settings; nearby search will then be limited or unavailable.

Account identifiers if you sign in.

Technical data needed to run the site or app (device type, app version, crash logs if we use them).

We do not collect medical records, weight, lab results, or payment data in this version.

Why we use it

To run the product: map, search, favourites, account.

To email you about launch if you opted in.

To fix bugs and keep the service secure.

Legal bases: your consent (waitlist, location) and our legitimate interests in providing and securing the service. Accounts are processed to perform the contract.

Sharing

We do not sell your data.

The app does not show ads.

We may use hosting and analytics providers (for example to host the site or app or to see crashes). They process data only on our instructions.

We share data if the law requires it.

Retention

Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer need them for launch.

Account data is kept while your account exists.

Location is used to show results; we do not build a lasting movement history.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data, and object to certain processing, under GDPR.

Email hello@lowca.be from the address you use with us. We will confirm it is you before deleting.

You may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority or the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Children

Lowca is for adults. We do not target children under 18.

Not medical advice

Lowca is a map and guide for eating out. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date above shows the latest version. We will note material changes in the app or on the site when needed.
